Methods of infection and treatment of humans from parasites

Herbal tea against parasites

There are different ways to infect humans with parasites.According to statistics, parasites in the body and infectious diseases are a common cause of death in humans.

Scientists have found fungi, bacteria and even algae in blood plasma.The most common are intestinal worms.

Parasites can live in humans for a long time.In 60% of cases, chronic and oncological diseases are caused by their vital activity.With prolonged exposure to microorganisms, internal organs and the entire immune system suffer.

Methods of infection by parasites

The routes of infection by parasites are different.Parasites are microorganisms that live at the expense of another organism and are biologically and ecologically related to it.Parasites can feed on juices, tissues, and foods that a person consumes and can remain in the body temporarily or permanently.

You can become infected with helminths in the following ways:

  1. Through dirty hands.
  2. When in contact with the ground.
  3. For insect bites.
  4. If you eat an undercooked piece of meat or fish.
  5. If you don't wash fruits and vegetables before eating.
  6. If you have uneducated contact with animals.
  7. In contact with a person suffering from helminths.

Worm eggs can be found in soil, water, contaminated fruits and vegetables, as well as in meat or fish that have not undergone adequate heat treatment.

In some cases, infection can occur from an insect bite, but this is extremely rare, since worm eggs enter the body mainly with food.Dirty hands can also be a source of helminthiasis infection.

You can also become infected from a sick person who is a carrier of pinworms.The pinworm crawls out through the anus and lays its eggs in the anus.They, in turn, can remain on underwear and get into a person's hands.The larvae can remain on the toilet, doorknob and other objects.If personal hygiene rules are not followed, they penetrate the bodies of other family members.If helminths are found in one family member, all household members must undergo treatment.

Infection through water occurs through consumption of unboiled water or while swimming.

What types of helminths are there?

The most common group of intestinal worms are nematodes.These include hookworms, roundworms, pinworms, heartworms and trichinae.

The second large group includes protozoa or single-celled parasites.These are amoebas, lamblia, neospores, cryptosporidia, etc.

Infection with Entamoeba histolytica can occur through drinking dirty water.In this case, loose stools, severe abdominal pain and vomiting occur.In severe cases, such manifestations sometimes cause complications in the liver.People often mistake an amoebic dysentery infection for a viral infection.

Millions of single-celled parasites can exist and develop on the stomach walls, preventing the nutrients necessary for the body from being properly absorbed.

Characteristic signs of giardiasis

The symptoms of a parasite infestation are as follows:

  1. Accumulation of gases in the stomach.
  2. Uneven bowel movements with undigested food particles.
  3. Chills.
  4. Increased sweating.
  5. Frequent abdominal pain.
  6. Soft stools.

Without treatment for parasites, over time a person begins to lose weight and often gets sick due to the weakening of the immune system.Of course, it is not advisable to rely solely on symptoms when identifying parasites.To detect helminths, it is necessary to conduct a series of stool and blood tests.Treatment largely depends on the degree of infection.In folk medicine there are many recipes for the treatment of helminthiasis;In difficult cases, it is better to resort to medication.

Classification of helminths

Worms are divided into flat and round.

Flat views:

  1. Trematodes, including schistosomes, opisthorchis, etc.
  2. Cestodes – echinococci, pork tapeworm, alveococci.

Roundworms or nematodes:

  1. Pinworm.
  2. Ascaris.
  3. Trichinae.
  4. Hookworm.

The most common types of helminths are:

schistosomes

This species of worm has different genders;in appearance it resembles a needle 0.4 to 2.6 cm long.The females are considered large and can produce up to 300 larvae per day.

The route of transmission occurs primarily through swimming in polluted waters.Infection occurs through human mucous membranes and by accidentally swallowing dirty water while bathing.Inside the body, the larva transforms into an adult within a day, capable of producing hundreds of similar organisms.

The schistosome reaches sexual maturity after entering the human venous system via the bloodstream.Individual eggs can be found in the intestines, urine and mucous membranes.After defecation, the schistosome begins its journey in the same way.

This parasite can remain in the human body for decades and cause irreparable harm to the patient.It is not the schistosomes themselves that are dangerous, but their eggs.They are deposited on the internal organs and cause damage with their thorns, damaging the tissues, often leading to various ulcers.

There are symptoms by which a person can determine the presence of schistosomes in the body:

  • poor appetite;
  • Anemia;
  • enlarged liver and changes in the spleen;
  • poor intestinal motility;
  • stomach pain;
  • diarrhea or constipation;
  • sudden weight loss;
  • bleeding in the intestines;
  • pain when urinating;
  • allergic reactions;
  • general weakness.

Cestodes

Cestodes are tapeworms that can reach gigantic lengths.Thus, the length of an adult is on average 0.5 cm.A female cestode can lay up to 200,000 eggs over the course of a year.

Thanks to special devices on the heads in the form of suction cups, cestodes are firmly attached to the intestinal walls.In this case, the whole body suffers.Such worms are especially dangerous for young children, as their vital activity depletes the body and causes anemia in a short period of time.

The routes of infection are fecal-oral, i.e. dirty hands, fruit and vegetables.Once in the intestines, the larvae spread through the veins throughout the body, penetrating the liver, heart and even the oral cavity.A certain number of the larvae die while the rest are swallowed again.

The main signs of a parasite infestation:

  • nausea and vomiting;
  • yellowing of the skin;
  • pancreatitis;
  • frequent colds;
  • Development of bronchitis and pneumonia.

Prevention of parasite infestation

Since there are many routes of infection through parasites, it is worth following a few rules to protect yourself and your family members from possible ingestion of worm larvae.

  1. Compliance with personal hygiene regulations.Frequent hand washing prevents parasites from entering the human body.This needs to be taught especially to children, as they often put their hands and various objects in their mouths.
  2. Washing fruits and vegetables thoroughly with running or boiling water.
  3. Destruction of flying and crawling insects (flies, cockroaches) in residential areas, as they carry worm eggs.

Many experts believe that every person is a carrier of parasites to some extent, which is why it is necessary to cleanse the body from time to time.
